This motherboard is exactly as described. For the beginners out there (like myself), look at the ports carefully when choosing a motherboard. For this one, I was mislead by the talk of high quality graphics (which is true), and just assumed this motherboard would have all of the display ports I needed. This motherboard only comes with an HDMI port, and nothing else (no VGA, and no DVI). Make sure you have an HDMI monitor (or a separate video card) if you decide to buy this motherboard. However, it performs great, and you can't go wrong with Gigabyte boards (my friend's words, not mine).

I have gotten this product on september 21, 2011. I was soo happy when it came and I wasn't disappointed when best buy installed it for me on the same day. Soo happy...

I wish I knew that there is a better product when I brought this motherboard. I didn't know that the Gigabyte UD7 is out then I would have gotten it. However, this product is working fine, and no issues. Bestbuy said everything is working fine and the only thing I need now is a power supply because both power supplies that were brought from circuit city were defective and had to be returned, so my defective product should be recieved by Amazon around october 7-10, 2011 and then I can get my refund so that, I can get me a power supply with a 2 year replacement plan from overstock. Then, I can put my power supply ordeal behind me and will be able to use this motherboard for the first time in my new pc.

I purchased an Asus M5 motherboard from circuit city, and bestbuy told me on september 7, 2011 that the motherboard is defective and I needed to replace it, so, I got this motherboard to replace it, because of the reviews that were read about the Asus Motherboards and how they were fuzzy about ram installation, and what type of ram that is purchased, may not be able to work on an Asus Motherboard.

I got this motherboard on September 20, 2011 so that bestbuy can install it, and they did, I also had to replace my power supply and it turned out my power supply was defective too, so now I have to wait until about October 11-14, 2011 to use my refund and get my power supply because it takes much longer to get refunds in a credit union than in any other bank. What will take one day inside a Bank of America will take two at a credit union.

So that is where I am now, I am waiting for my refund to purchase my power supply to finally get to use my custom pc that has been created from scratch. It has been about a month since I send my parts over to bestbuy to install all my parts inside an empty coolermaster chassis. It is about time for me to use my new highly advanced desktop pc to enjoy better gaming and media performances, and this motherboard has what I need to do so. It is not the best because I didn't know that the UD7 is out but I will not complaint because I just want to use my new computer.

Moved up from Gigabyte GA790FX-UDP4 board to this with a 1090T CPU. Install took about 2 hours and was as simple as it could get. Board was recognized by everything up front and I didn't have to reinstall Windows on my HD!

Just got this board up & running for a new Linux server machine with 2500K processor. No problems and seems great for my needs. Only one PCI slot but that's all I needed for an extra Ethernet port.

Flashing the BIOS with the "F7" utility worked fine & I didn't even need any bootable media, just a USB flash drive.

Low power consumption & no need for a discrete graphics card - especially for a server. At idle, the system only uses 46-47 watts with an Intel SSD, 500GB WD Black 7200 RPM HD, 5 fans (3 case, 1 CPU cooler, 1 power supply), and one extra Ethernet card.

2x SATA 3 (6 Gbit/s) ports & 2x USB 3.0 ports... though I had an issue using the SATA 3 ports with Linux (I think it was a Linux issue) so I just moved the connections to the SATA 2 ports.

Intel reliability - THREE year warranty.

UPDATE 2011-06-16: I bought another one of these for a Windows Home Server upgrade. There are no network drivers for Windows Home Server, Server 2003, and I think Server 2008 R2 as well (because Intel claims this is a "desktop" not "server" board so I guess they feel there is no need)... so beware. I ended up having to use a separate network card instead of using the built-in NIC.

I bought this motherboard and a Sandybridge CPU for a new home PC, running Win 7. The great thing about it is that you don't need a separate video card, it's built into the MB (with the GFX processing built into the SNB cpu). Note, there is no VGA out on it, just DVI and HDMI. I have used both video outs successfully, although the DVI output is crisper than the HDMI (this could be a function of my monitor...)

It has lots of USB ports, including two USB 3.0. (No legacy PS/2 ports for mouse and keyboard, tho.) Also, no firewire (but like I said, two USB 3.0's).

I loaded the four DIMM slots with 16GB of RAM, and am using the single parallel PCI slot for a parallel interface card, for my legacy printer. The board has an additional two PCI express slots, which I am not using.

Had no trouble installing the MB into an Antec mid tower case. The CPU fan snaps in easily.

Bought this board to use in a brand new Win 7 build, and so far it's doing almost everything I wanted it to. Tons of nice features and plenty of BIOS options. There is an option in the BIOS to overlock the CPU by just changing a couple of settings. Or you can get really crazy and start messing with all the voltage settings if you're so inclined. Once the OS and ASUS drivers were installed all my new hardware was recognized without any problems. I chose this board mainly because it has SATA 3 capability on all 6 SATA ports, and USB 3.0.

One thing I was very disappointed in was the RAID setup in the BIOS. One of the reasons I chose this board was for it's RAID feature. I was planing on running RAID 1 on two of the ports, 5 and 6, but as it turns out when I enable RAID in the BIOS it activates all 6 SATA ports for RAID. Huh? Not sure how that's supposed to work exactly when I have a single primary drive for the OS on port 1 and a Blu Ray drive on port 2. I couldn't figure a way around this so I'm just going to install a separate RAID card, a High Point Rocket RAID 620 to control two Hitachi 2 TB SATA 3 HDDs.

Overall it's a very good motherboard and I would highly recommend it, but I have to subtract a star because of the disappointing RAID feature.

Update on 07-12-11:

After using this board for a couple of months now I've discovered another problem with it: USB 3 ports work inconsistently. I started using two external HDD enclosures with USB 3 connections about a month ago, and it seems to be hit or miss if they work. They drives worked fine at first, but now I can't get them to work at all. I've tried different drivers from the ASUS support site, but that just made it worse. Maybe a BIOS update would help, not sure. I'm still searching for info online to see if this is a common problem with this board. So far I've discovered that this board has quite a few problems. Bummer.

I'm very disappointed in this ASUS mobo. If I can't find a solution to fix the USB 3 problem I might consider installing a PCI card with USB 3, or just scrap the mobo altogether and go with an MSI.

I bought this motherboard to build my first computer ever from scratch and so far it has not let me down, everything is as advertised and played nicely with my AMD X4 640 processor (excellent choice for the price). My Corsair RAM was recognized as 1333 but 2 enters in the BIOS corrected them to 1600. Has USB 3.0 and can take up to the newest 6core processors from AMD so I have a motherboard that will last for a long time.

Like the other reviewer said it saw my 1600 ram as 1333. I had to change it in the bios. it also didn't see my ram at first but like the instruction book told me; I held down the button next to the ram slots and restarted and the the board saw my ram. outside of those two things board works flawlessly.

So I bought this card for the express purpose of cranking my graphics settings in Battlefield 3 and not having to worry about the video getting too wonky. It can be impossible to play when you're dealing with choppy graphics.

Overall, for the price, I'm very happy with this card. I run the game at max resolution and "high" settings. It isn't set to Ultra, but even when gaming immediately next to someone playing with new maxed out SLI or Crossfire configurations (BF3 set to Ultra), the difference is hardly perceptible. You can tell, but for the price, it SOOO isn't worth it. Just get yourself one of these and set it up to run smoothly. You'll be happy.
