Burns Blu Ray, Double layer DVDs, regular DVDs well,
This unit integrates well with Pinnacle 14 Studio Ultimate, as well as Nero. I have burned Blu Ray, double layer DVDs, regular DVDs with no problems. Burn alacrity is adjustable by software.

PIoneer BDR-205 Blu-ray burner,
It should be noted that this is an OEM product. No cables, mounting screws, sparse instructions, outdated software, no technical help from Pioneer. Performance on BD-RE is more like 1X rather than the 2X claimed. Alacrity on BD-R is also slower than claimed.

I bought from Platinum Micro, Inc. This is a bulk (or OEM) item and is not retail. It does not have a mark from Pioneer. So you will not receive the first box and cables. Runs excellent though!
Software is from Cyberlink and says ultimate Playback and Burning Suite for Blue-ray Disc, but questions you to upgrade with installation. Cannot play HD formats like AVCHD (from HD camcorder). The upgrade cost for the playback piece is $[...]. There are two more pieces to upgrade but I have to see their upgrade price. Please visit the cyberlink website.
