Fantastic small sound adapter,
I bought one of these about 6 months ago to use by the side of with a freeware program called Visual Analyzer (fantastic tool by the way) in peacefulness to have a low cost but portable and handy low frequency signal analyzer (<20KHz) and generator on my laptop. It has worked extremely well for that purpose. As nearly an aside I connected the laptop and this adapter to the stereo in the living room to let us take note to some iTunes, Pandora and internet radio. I was really surprised at the fantastic sound quality. I had done this previously with the built in sound chipset of this and another laptop and was underwhelmed by the flat, dry sound out of the system and I guess I assumed this was what “mp3″ sounded like on a decent stereo. Well, dinners and guests now have a very nice musical accompaniment as this adapter found a permanent home on the living room system and I got another for my laptop analyzer.

So far so excellent,
Simple to install, simple to use. I record webinars and I need the ability to record a stereo mix (speakers plus microphone). This is one of the few devices that has a driver supporting stereo mix below Windows 7.

Works fantastic, perfect for hooking up 5.1 surround sound to laptops,
I bought this because I had a set of 5.1 surround sound speakers (the Logitech Z-5500) but plugging them directly into my laptop would only allow me to take note to two of the speakers. This simple device allowed me to use all 5 speakers. Fantastic product.
