It works, but…,
The shipping was super quick, got here before the first date in the expected range. My only complaint is that it did not come with the mounting hardware. I didn’t need the hardware. I just took it off my broken DVD Burner, but they show a picture of the hardware on the page, so it should come with it or not have the picture!

Very excellent drive,
I bought this drive to replace the broken one on my HP/Compaq laptop. I was really a bit concern that it wouldn’t work on the Compaq because HP seems to have a habit to lock certain components in the BIOS, such as the wireless card. But the same drive with the HP mark costs twice as much, I was all ready for a BIOS hack, to my delight, I popped in the drive and it just works like a champ!! All I needed to do was to replace the bazel with the one belongs to the laptop.

brilliant drive,
the drive works fantastic. very compatible,i had this matschita drive from before and it was very lousy
the replacment was cheap and new and just perfect! Recommended.
